Cómo cuidar las piezas

How to care for your handmade jewelry so it lasts a long time

When we buy a piece of jewelry we really like, it's natural to want to wear it again and again. It happens to me too. There are pieces that become part of our daily lives, and we almost forget that, even though they are made with durable materials, they also appreciate some basic care.

CUADRATURA jewelry is made with stainless steel, semi-precious stones, ceramic, glass, and freshwater pearls. These materials are designed to last, but each has its own particularities.

You don't need to do anything complicated. With a few small gestures, you'll ensure they maintain their appearance for many years.

Stainless steel: a great everyday companion

I chose stainless steel because it's a very durable material. It doesn't rust easily, it holds its color well, and it's a good option for those looking for comfortable jewelry to wear frequently.

Even so, that doesn't mean it's indestructible.

If possible, take off your earrings or necklace before showering, swimming in the pool, or going into the sea. Water is usually not the problem; chlorine, salt, and chemicals that end up depositing on the surface are.

Stones also need a little care

Many of the pieces I use feature semi-precious stones. One of the things I like most about them is that no two are exactly alike. Each has small veins, nuances, or transparencies that make it unique.

To keep them beautiful, simply clean them occasionally with a soft, dry cloth. They don't need special products or harsh cleaners.

Ceramic and glass

Although these materials are quite resistant for daily use, it's advisable to avoid strong impacts against hard surfaces.

Sometimes we store earrings all together in a box, and when they move, they knock against each other. Over time, this can cause small scratches. That's why I always recommend storing them separately or inside a small bag.

Perfume first, jewelry second

It's a very simple gesture and it makes all the difference.

Apply perfume, cream, or sunscreen before putting on your jewelry. This will prevent these products from accumulating on the stones or metal parts.

How to store them

You don't need a huge jewelry box.

The important thing is that the pieces are not piled up and that they remain in a dry place, away from the humidity of the bathroom.

If you keep the box or bag you received your order in, it will be a perfect place to store them when you're not wearing them.

A small imperfection also tells a story

Natural stones, pearls, and some ceramic pieces are never completely identical.

And, honestly, I think that's part of their charm.

When I make a piece of jewelry, I don't try to make it exactly like another. I like it to retain that artisanal character that gives each piece its own personality.

Thank you for taking care of a handmade piece

Every piece of jewelry that leaves my small workshop is assembled one by one, without rushing and paying attention to every detail.

That's why it gives me special joy to think that, with simple care, it can accompany you for a long time.

And, if you ever have any questions about the maintenance of a CUADRATURA piece, I'll be happy to help.
